- Writing materials (pen, pencil, notepad, paper, digital word processor)
- Sketchpad
- Audio recording devices (phone applications, etc.)
- Camera(s), misc. technology
- Drawing supplies/utensils (this includes any other materials needed for visual arts practices)
- Misc. artistic materials/supplies (consistent with your practice)
- Water―at least one gallon per person per day
- Food―more than you think you will need
- Ice and ice chest
- Sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses
- Sturdy footwear (hiking boots, etc.)
- Daypack (backpack for carrying supplies)
- First aid materials (first aid kit, etc.)
- Layered clothing (for adjusting to heat and cooler temperatures throughout the day)
- Hand sanitizer
- Pocketknife
- Smartphone or tablet (loaded with Just Ahead or other useful apps, of course)
- Cords and recharging necessities (for charging in car)
- Binoculars
- Flashlights or headlamps
- Blankets
